The Oakland Soldiers tournament at Contra Costa College was a showcase for Northern California teams, as they prepare for the Kingwood Classic in Houston and the Las Vegas tournaments the following week. The tournament featured many of the younger players and neighborhood clubs emerging on the scene.

Teams such as the Bay Area Elite, Bay Area Wildcats and others had good showings. In the Platinum Division, the Oakland Soldiers II team surprised everyone by winning the championship 76-73 over the Lakeshow Sr. In the Gold Division, the Bay Area Wildcats 16s defeated the Oakland Rebels 16s 46-35 in the title game.

The spring basketball circuit has begun in earnest as prospects vye for the attention of college coaches. NorCalPreps.com will continue its coverage of the club circuit.
