Modesto Christian came into Oakland to face the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons on Saturday. It wasn't the prettiest of games for the No. 1 ranked Dragons, but they got the job done, winning by a score of 70-52.

The Crusaders from Modesto Christian took the 1st quarter, 17-15, but that's pretty much all they would take. Bishop O'Dowd would finish the 1st half on a 10-0 run and a buzzer beater from Paris Austin to take a score of 39-28 into the half.
The Crusaders, who beat El Cerrito 73-64 last week, were led by Jeff Wu's 15 points. Anthony Townes added 10 points, but it just wasn't enough to come close to winning this game. Even with Bishop O'Dowd having 16 turnovers and 12 missed free throws, Modesto Christian just could not capitalize.
In the fourth quarter, Dragons star Ivan Rabb broke out for 10 points. He would finish with 19 points, 13 assists, and 5 blocks. Rabb also had three consecutive dunks with the help of nice passing from Austin and Jackson Kalmbach. Austin would go on to finish with 14 points and 7 assists and Kalmbach finished with 12. Desmond Chatman and Juwan Anderson combined for 21 points for O'Dowd, as they outscored Modesto Christian 45-26 in the second and fourth quarters.
With the loss, Modesto Christian drops to 16-8, 9-0 in league play. The Crusaders will host Ripon next Tuesday. Bishop O'Dowd improves to a record of 18-4, 6-0 in the WACL. The Dragons are now on a 13 game win streak as they travel to play Mt. Eden next week.
