Open Division: Harvard-Westlake beat Salesian 50-45
Harvard-Westlake puts the first points on the board, a driving layup by Trent Perry, DeUndre Perteete answered with a three pointer off an assist from Aaron Hukin-Claytor. Elias Obenyah rebounded and pushed the ball to find Perteete for another 3. The fast paced first quarter saw Harvard-Westlake lead 12-11 before they scored the final nine points in the first frame.
Salesian worked its way back by attacking the basket and getting production off the bench. Harvard-Westlake’s Robert Hinton 6'4 2024 guard, had the shooting touch in the first half to lead all scorers with 15 points. Salesians defense gets a much needed stop towards the end of the half. Obenyah continued to force way into the paint and scored with a jump hook, but Harvard-Westlake led 31-27 at the half.
The Pride scored the first five points in the third quarter, but Harvard-Westlake took a 38-36 lead into the fourth quarter. Both teams dealt with some foul trouble as both Hunkin-Claytor and Perry each picked up their third fouls.
The teams continued to trade baskets including strong play for Obenyah, who had a drive to give Salesian a 45-43 lead, Perry then left his final imprint on the game with a three point and a well contested jumper to give Harvard-Westlake a 48-45 lead with 25 seconds left.

Division II: Oakland Tech beat Centennial-Bakersfield 79-55
Centennial scored the first couple of buckets of the game, but after an early time out from Oakland Tech, they settled down to lead 16-13 at the end of the first quarter. Xan Myer-Plettner 6'7 2025 forward for Tech has three blocks and was actively going after shots early. Centennial's 6'6 Sr guard Rippen Gill had eight points, took it up strong off two feet in the paint, and was running the court for transition buckets.
At the half, Oakland Tech led 33-27 behind Tech's Ahmed Guliad 6'4 2024 Forward, who played tough in the paint using his body for eight points and four rebounds. Tech guard Ardarius Grayson 6'0 PG, a rising prospect in the 2025 class showed his all around game of eight points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Oakland Tech scored the first 10 points in the second half to expand their lead to 16 points en route to a 59-41 lead with eight minutes left.
Oakland Tech, which should start next season as one of the best teams in the Bay Area, stayed in control and led by as much as 33 points before posting the 24 point win for the program’s first state title in boys basketball.

Division IV: Monterey beat Chatsworth 74-66
Monterey got off to a good start in the first boys game of the day. Kavon Collins 6'2 2025 guard accounted for 12 of Monterey's 16 points and led the scoring at the end of the first quarter with Monterey hanging on to a 16-10 lead. Chatsworth’s Alijah Arenas 6'4 Super Soph has seven points and three steals for Chatsworth as he made moves to surpass his average of 32 points a game. Monterey got continued production from Collins, Ryan Roth and Joshua Roth to try to hold off Chatsworth and Alijah Arenas who had 16 points at the half, but. Monterey led at the half 34-29.
The game stayed competitive through three quarters with Monterey remaining in the lead at 52-48. Despite Arenas picking up a fourth foul early in the fourth quarter, Chatsworth remained close at 59-53. However, production from Ryan Roth proved to be too much at Monterey won its first state title.
