1. Granada (32-1)
The Matadors posted a historic season with a +180 run differential in 33 games and won 16 in a row twice to sandwich its lone loss to Amador Valley. They won the EBAL regular season title, EBAL playoff title, NCS Division I title and NorCal Division I title. Granada beat six different Top 20 teams.
2. St. Mary’s-Stockton (30-6)
The Rams were the first SJS team to reach the NorCal Division I finals after winning the SJS Division I crown with an undefeated run through that bracket (Franklin-Stockton, Inderkum, Oak Ridge (twice) and Rocklin).
3. De La Salle (21-8)
Despite seeing its NCS and overall playoff winning streak come to an end (both by Granada), the season also showed the staying power of the Spartans in a sport marked by unpredictability. Their best stretch came during a six game winning streak when they scored at least nine runs in each game.
4. Mitty (20-13-1)
Mitty went through a midseason five game losing streak, but went 14-6 the rest of the way including the CCS Division I title and a NorCal first round win over SJS Division II winner Granite Bay. It was Mitty’s first CCS Division I title since 2010, which was one of the region’s best teams in the past 15 years.
5. Valley Christian-San Jose (27-6)
Valley Christian spent parts of the season in the No. 1 spot in getting out to a 22-3 start. However, they went 5-3 the rest of the way including a CCS playoff loss to Mitty and a NorCal playoff loss to St. Mary’s.
6. Rocklin (24-11)
After falling to St. Mary’s-Stockton in the SJS Division I finals, Rocklin’s season was ended in the NorCal Division I playoffs by De La Salle. The Thunder, who were the SFL champions, were 6-3 in one run games this season.
7. Granite Bay (24-10)
It was a tale of three seasons for the Grizzlies, who reached the NorCal Division I playoffs. They started off 13-1 with the Boras Classic title. Then they lost six of eight games with series losses to Whitney and Oak Ridge. Finally they won nine of 11 with a SJS Division II title win over Elk Grove.
8. Cardinal Newman (28-5)
The Cardinals capped off its third straight NCS winning season with its first NorCal Baseball title in Division II. They also reached the finals of the Boras Classic which included a win over No. 2 St. Mary’s-Stockton.
9. Franklin-Elk Grove (26-7)
Franklin’s season ended losing two of three games to Rocklin in the semifinals of the SJS Division I playoffs. The Wildcats had won 10 in a row before dropping a pair of games to Rocklin.
10. Elk Grove (22-14)
Elk Grove played 10 of its 36 games against Top 10 teams and reached the SJS Division II finals after two wins over Whitney. The Thundering Herd lost in extra innings to Granite Bay in the finals before falling in the NorCal Division II semifinals to Cardinal Newman.
11. College Park (19-8)
College Park ended the regular season on a 13-2 run and won its first two NCS playoff games before falling to De La Salle in the NCS Division I semifinals. The Falcons had a penchant for playing close games with a 7-2 mark in one run games.
12. Acalanes (23-4)
The Dons gave up 2.66 runs per game in being ranked as one of the top teams in NorCal throughout the season. They started the season with 17 straight wins and reached the NCS Division I semifinals before losing to eventual champion Granada.
13. Redwood (28-5)
The Giants went 10-2 over their last 12 games with both losses coming to Cardinal Newman in the NCS and NorCal Division II finals. Redwood is the first team from Marin County to reach a NorCal baseball final.
14. St. Ignatius (21-11)
St. Ignatius beat Serra and Carmel by shutout in the CCS Division I playoffs before falling to Mitty in the finals. Slotted for Division II in NorCal, St. Ignatius reached the semifinals in losing to Redwood.
15. Serra (22-7)
The Padres were firmly at No. 3 in the NCP Top 20 thanks in part to two wins over St. Mary’s-Stockton, but saw their season end with a 2-0 loss to St. Ignatius in the opening game of the CCS Division I playoffs.
16. Oakmont (30-7)
Oakmont went 22-2 to close out the season with both losses coming to Lincoln. However, two of those wins came over Central Catholic in the SJS and NorCal Division III finals.
17. Woodcreek (21-11)
Woodcreek played a tough schedule early and won 16 of 19 games heading into the SJS Division II semifinals, but lost both games to eventual champion Granite Bay.
18. Casa Grande (19-9)
The Gauchos had three wins over Top 20 teams, including NorCal Division II champion Cardinal Newman. However, Casa Grande’s season ended in the NCS Division I quarterfinals to Acalanes.
19. Jesuit (18-11-1)
Jesuit went 18-7 after a 0-4-1 start with wins over De La Salle and Oak Ridge. They lost in extra innings to Granite Bay in the SJS Division II quarterfinals.
20. Oak Ridge (16-16)
The Trojans played 14 games against the Top 20 teams and reached the SJS Division I semifinals, where they lost two games to St. Mary’s-Stockton.
