1. Folsom (22-9): Bulldogs have three Top 20 seniors led by Harvard bound forward Mason Forbes. Also look for Jayce McCain and Martis Johnson to lead the preseason No. 1 team.
2. Modesto Christian (22-8): Very good depth returning in addition to new faces. Junior Ballard (Cal Poly), Michael Pearson, Dathan Satchell and Gabe Murphy (Northwest Nazarene) are some of the players to watch.
3. Salesian (27-5): The Pride did lose some contributors as result of transfers, but James Akinjo (UCONN) is one of the top players in the state. JoVon and Jaden McClanahan, Tyler Brinkman and incoming post Taejon Sawyer will keep Salesian among the best in the region.
4. Bishop O’Dowd (19-11): They bring back Elijah Hardy (Washington), Naseem Gaskin (Utah) and the top player in the 2019 class with Raymond Hawkins to lead a deep group of returners. Will O’Dowd make it back to the Open Division?
5. Sheldon (30-4): The Huskies graduated a very good backcourt, but return key players in Dale Curry and Ronald Agebsar to remain among the best in the region. Also look for Dom Johnson and incoming transfer Kaito Williams.
6. Jesuit (15-13): With Chris Simpson, Isaiah Rutherford and Jack Virga returning, the Marauders were already going to be good. Add in Elias King from Christian Brothers and they have a chance at a section title.
7. Capital Christian (23-8): Despite Kendall Munson being out due to injury, the Cougars will be formidable with Zach Chappell, Rick Barros and Tolu Jacobs (Penn State).
8. St. Ignatius (23-7): They have five ranked players in the senior and junior classes, led by 2018 guards Darrion Trammell and Brandon Beckman.
9. Mitty (18-11): The defending Central Coast Section Open Division champions return Riley Grigsby, Joseph Vaughn, Devin Sapp and Charles Meng. Freshman Mike Mitchell is one to watch.
10. Bellarmine (25-3): Led by Jake Wojcik (Siena), the Bells will look to build on last year CCS Open Division runner-up finish. Kendall Stubblefield can cause mismatches at forward.
11. De La Salle (28-6): For the first time since 2014-2015, the Spartans have the same head coach returning. Second year head man Justin Argenal will have UC San Diego bound Justin Pratt as the Spartans play for a third straight NCS title.
12. Dublin (29-5): Despite the graduation of Timmy Falls, the Gaels will remain in the hunt with guards Robby Beasley and Conner Jackson providing one of the best backcourts in the Bay Area. Post Jack Nielsen will give a good inside presence.
13. St. Francis, Mountain View (21-10): The Lancers still have guard Logan Johnson after he decided to remain at St. Francis for his final year. The Cincinnati bound guard will be in play for WCAL Player of the Year honors.
14. Las Lomas (22-7): With returning guards Robert Prince and Devin Payne in addition to incoming transfer Nathan Robinson, Las Lomas will be able to play on the perimeter with most teams in the North Coast Section.
15. Palo Alto (26-5): Coming off a NorCal Division I runner-up finish, the Vikings return 10 players led by versatile wing Max Dorwood.
16. St. Joseph (30-2): A quick exit from the Open Division shouldn’t diminish the type of team St. Joseph fielded last year. The Pilots lost a very good backcourt, but look for Cameron Ba, Adam Campos and Julian Vaughns (from St. Mary’s-Berkeley) to keep the Pilots in the rankings.
17. Moreau Catholic (25-10): Losing Damari Milstead and Kyree Walker is a jolt to the program, but talent remains. Be on the lookout for Amil Fields, Glenn Byrd, Dallas Rider and Leonard Turner.
18 Logan (28-6): The Colts lost their top five scorers, but Malcolm Steadman and Gabriel Hawkins are players to watch. They are a well coached program coming off a NorCal Division I title.
19. St. Mary’s, Stockton (21-12): The Rams will be led by junior forward Bryce Johnson, who is one of the top 2019s in the region. They will need newcomers to step up in the backcourt
20. Lincoln, Stockton (20-8): Cal bound Andre Kelly is one of the best players in the region as the Trojans push for more playoff success. Zeke Holman is another player to watch.
