Wolves offense downs Foothill

Coming off a loss on Thursday, San Ramon Valley came into Saturday's game against Foothill looking to redeem itself. The Wolves got just what the doctor ordered as they handed Foothill its second loss in East Bay Athletic League play, winning by a score of 9-5.
The Wolves were led to victory on offense by juniors Nick Poirier and Greg Lowe as they drove in six of their team's nine runs. Poirier went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in and two runs scored, Lowe went 2-for-3 with four runs batted in and a walk. Starting pitcher Conner Loar went three and two-thirds innings as he gave up two earned runs, settling for a no-decision. Junior pitcher Riley Moore came in for two-thirds of an inning and recorded his first win of the season.

As for Foothill, senior captain Ryan Anderson led the team offensively as he went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Even with scoring five runs, the Falcons just could not keep up with the Wolves offensively. Senior Jake Wilgus pitched four innings as he gave up four earned runs. Foothill was still in the game until San Ramon notched three runs off Falcons' relief pitcher Vincent Tanisawa.
The Falcons started the season off 7-0, but have now dropped two of their last three games to De La Salle and San Ramon. Foothill now holds a record of 8-2 with a league record of 2-2. They will look to rebound from the loss this upcoming Wednesday.
San Ramon Valley improves to a 7-3 record, 3-1 in the EBAL. The Wolves are now one of the top teams in the EBAL standings as they look to knock off another league rival De La Salle next Wednesday.
