Uu is available

Pssst. Hey college coaches. There's another 2009 recruit for you to check out, a bounceback guard with long-distance shooting range. Academics are fine. Very low mileage, started five games, played in 18 games during the 2008-2009 season and has three years of eligibility remaining.
Drake Uu has returned to Sacramento after playing a season at Hartford, a member of the America East Conference.

"It was a great experience, an opportunity to get out of town and out of my comfort zone," the former Rio Americano guard said. "I played with a great group of guys (including Marin Catholic's Michael Turner and Morgan Sabia of Sir Francis Drake) and everybody was good to me."
Uu added, "Coach Leo [Dan Leibovitz] showed a lot of confidence in me, starting me in some games and I thank him for that. It's that I found out I wanted to play closer to home so that my family could see me."
A foot injury caused Uu to miss some games and not be completely healthy while playing in others but that has healed.
"I'm looking for a school that I can get in to this fall," Uu explained. He has his official release from Hartford.
According to his former club coach Phil Doherty, "Drake is an unbelievable student and exemplifies the term 'student-athlete' -- he earned a 4.0 GPA in college this past season. He is a gym rat with a tremendous work ethic who is always looking to get better. I see him as a strong guard who has the ability to drive with and shoot the basketball."
