NorCal Notes: Football and Clash headline weekend

Clash storylines to watch

The NorCal Clash is set to take place this Sunday (2:00 PM) at Contra Costa College in what has become the final chapter of summer basketball. What three storylines should you be watching for?

At different times, the game seems to “click” for a player and two guys that had that moment this summer were Folsom’s Mason Forbes and Serra’s Jack Wilson. Both 2018 grads picked up multiple offers this summer and will be key frontline players for the juniors.

Joey Calcaterra (Marin Catholic) had a good spring/summer in showing his scoring prowess carried forward to high levels of competition. He will be counted on to score for the 2017s on Sunday as a shooter and driver.

2018 is shaping up as a very good class with plenty of guards stepping forward led by Capital Christian’s Zach Chappell. How will the backcourt mates play against some strong senior guards like Jadé Smith of St. Joseph?

*Moreau Catholic guard Damari Milstead was selected for the game, but won’t play due to injury.
