Whitney and Del Campo face off in the opening round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs. Del Campo (8-2) comes into the postseason as the #6 seed in the section after finishing undefeated in Capital Valley Conference play. The Cougars have plenty of momentum as they ride a 7-game winning streak into November. Running backs Josh Blumgold and Austin Brown form a two-headed rushing attack that has been difficult to stop for opposing defenses. Whitney (8-2) finished second in the Capital Athletic League and enters the playoffs with the #11 seed. The Wildcats will look to bounce back from a heart breaking 35-27 loss to league rival Antelope in the regular season finale. Senior running back Sutter Choisser has been the workhorse for Whitney rushing for 1,212 yards and an impressive 21 touchdowns. The Wildcats stand as a dark horse to take the section title in their first season in Division II.
