Lane among a deep group of posts in 2019

It is a crowded group of posts in the 2019 class, but don’t overlook Woodside Priory/Peninsula Elite’s Ila Lane. Ranked No. 13 for rising juniors, Lane was named MVP for Peninsula Elite at the End of the Trail event in Oregon. At the Adidas Gauntlet in Texas, Peninsula Elite went 1-3 with Lane posting 12 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to the New Jersey Panthers.

The 6-foot-4 Lane showed a good activity level in Oregon on both ends. She works hard for post position before receiving the ball, uses her physicality to move defenders and is a tough player to front. She can also knock down a short jumper out to 10 feet. Lane is a solid shot blocker, but is best going side to side to alter shots and passes.

She averaged 14 points and 12 rebounds as a sophomore in helping Woodside Priory win the Central Coast Section Division V title en route to a NorCal runner-up finish.
