Behind a strong outing from Oregon bound RHP Cullen Kafka and a four run seventh inning, #2 De La Salle notched a 6-1 road win over #16 Bellarmine on Friday.

Kafka, 6-foot-3 and 192 pounds, went five innings of two hit ball, gave up a run and struck out seven batters (four swinging). He induced five ground outs and three fly outs.

De La Salle nearly got on the scoreboard in the third inning when it loaded the bases with one out before an inning ending, double play. The fourth inning started with hits by Michael Curran and Trace Tammaro, who both came around to score. Nick Cirelli had a RBI single.

Bellarmine scored in the bottom half of the fourth inning after a lead off double from Laurence Palmer, who scored on a RBI ground out from pitcher Wes Harper.

Holding onto a 2-1 lead, De La Salle extended its advantage in the final frame through a two run homer from Nick Santiago and a two run double by Tammaro, his second extra base hit of the game.

Harper went six innings of two run ball for Bells with three walks and six strikeouts after punching out the side in the sixth.

Mason LeGate tossed the final two innings for the Spartans, will play #3 Elk Grove on March 3.

Bellarmine is back in action on Saturday against #10 Casa Grande.
