Out of a desire for exposure, 500+ young men traveled to Southern California to compete in front of college coaches or test their skills against some of the best players on the West Coast at either the Pump West Coast All-Star Camp in Lynwood or Full-Court Press All-West Camp at the Warrior Center in Cypress. Players representing Northern California were many, joining a contingent which also included national prospects fresh from their trips to either ABCD or Nike All-American camps.

My first impression was Pump was down this year. While, better players typically camp at Dino Trigonis’ All-West Camp, Pump has featured better talent in the past. Things heated up when the shoe camp guys showed up as players without the big reputations wanted to prove they could play also.
