LBS reps in state finals

If you are a fan of Long Beach State, you will see the future of 49ers basketball this weekend. Four signees will be at Sleep Train Arena, including St. Joseph's Temidayo Yussuf. Also see McDonald's All-American Stanley Johnson and plenty of other Division I prospects.

Open Division: Bishop O'Dowd (28-4) vs. Mater Dei (34-0)

The premier game of the year is a rematch from the Tarkanian Classic finals won by Mater Dei, 63-59 in overtime. It features the top two players in the state with Mater Dei's Stanley Johnson (Arizona) and Bishop O'Dowd junior Ivan Rabb. Mater Dei is going for a state four peat with a pair of Division I and the inaugural Open Division title the last three years.

Top Prospects: Bishop O'Dowd - Rabb, Paris Austin, Juwan Anderson Mater Dei - Stanley Johnson, Rex Pflueger, M. J. Cage

Tale of the Tape: Bishop O'Dowd (77 points per game/54.1 points allowed/23 game winning streak) Mater Dei (81.3 points per game/55.9 points allowed/38 game winning streak)

Division I: Monte Vista (31-1) vs. Centennial-Corona (29-3)

Monte Vista is coming off its first NorCal title and first regional game appearance since 2009. The Mustangs have been top five ranked in NorCal since the preseason with only a three point loss to rival San Ramon Valley as a blemish on their resume. Centennial also won its first regional title in its second appearance. The Huskies won the St. Hope Elite Classic in December in beating Capital Christian in the finals.

Top Prospects: Monte Vista - Spencer Rust, Trevor John, Grant Jackson Centennial - Deontae North (Long Beach State), Sedrick Barefield (SMU)

Tale of the Tape: Monte Vista (60.4 points per game/43.2 points allowed/13 game winning streak) Centennial (76.4 points per game/59.7 points allowed/4 game winning streak)

Division II: Folsom (32-2) vs. St. John Bosco (22-11)

With just two seniors on the roster, Folsom has been the top Division II team in NorCal for much of the year and beat Cosumnes Oaks for the second time in two weeks in the regional finals. The Bulldogs will face a talented Braves' squad with multiple high major players. They won all of their regional games by at least 17 points.

Top Prospects: Folsom - Jordan Ford, Colin Russell St. John Bosco - Daniel Hamilton (Connecticut), Tyler Dorsey (Arizona), Vance Jackson

Tale of the Tape: Folsom (72.4 points per game/55.2 points allowed/22 game winning streak) St. John Bosco (69.2 points per game/61.5 points allowed/4 game winning streak)

Division III: Drake (26-7) vs. Chaminade (26-6)

Drake navigated the NorCal bracket as a No. 9 seed to win its first regional title since 1994. The run included knocking out defending champion Sacred Heart Cathedral. After losing to St. Augustine in the finals last year, Chaminade picked up its first regional title with a 53-52 win over Santa Margarita.

Top Prospects: Drake - Malik Huff, Jesse Hunt Chaminade - Jack Williams (Long Beach State), Michael Oguine, Trevor Stanback

Tale of the Tape: Drake (58.7 points per game/52.7 points allowed/4 game winning streak) Chaminade (62.1 points per game/49.6 points allowed/4 game winning streak)

Division IV: Moreau Catholic (27-6) vs. Bishop Montgomery (27-6)

Moreau Catholic's historic season continues after winning the program's first regional title with a 61-52 win over Salesian. The Mariners are comprised of underclassmen with just one junior. They will take on Bishop Montgomery, which has won four regional titles in the last 15 years over Division III and IV. It won back to back state titles in 2000-2001 and fell to Salesian in a classic Division IV final in 2009.

Top Prospects: Moreau Catholic - Oscar Frayer, Brandon Lawrence, Damari Milstead Bishop Montgomery - Justin Bibbins (Long Beach State), Stephen Thompson

Tale of the Tape: Moreau Catholic (71.7 points per game/56.4 points allowed/9 game winning streak) Bishop Montgomery (70.8 points per game/53.7 points allowed/3 game winning streak)

Division V: St. Joseph (30-5) vs. Renaissance Academy (24-7)

St. Joseph is in the state finals for a fourth straight year and looking for its second state crown in that span. The Pilots have four state titles overall. Renaissance Academy has two regional titles since 2008 and lost to Branson in the 2008 Division V finals. The Wildcats are the lone Southern California team that didn't play in the Southern Section Open Division playoffs.

Top Prospects: St. Joseph - Temidayo Yussuf (Long Beach State), Lamont Banks, Jade Smith Renaissance Academy - Marquise Mosley
