Regional Bowl Primer

The regional bowl matchups are set and features five new teams to the post-section play. See how each program got here, including undefeated runs by De La Salle, Folsom and Enterprise.

Open Division: De La Salle vs. Folsom 12/14 Diablo Valley College

How they got here: De La Salle beat California 49-17 to win the North Coast Section Division I title. It is their 22nd straight title. Folsom beat Oak Ridge 49-17 to win the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I title. It is the third section crown in four years for the Bulldogs.

Regional/State Bowl History: De La Salle has played in every state bowl since its inception in 2006. The Spartans are 5-2, including four straight Open Division titles. Folsom won the 2010 Division II state title with a 48-20 win over Serra-Gardena. In the 2012 NorCal Open Division Regional Bowl, De La Salle beat Folsom 49-15.

Top Prospects: De La Salle - Kevin Griffin, Sumner Houston, Larry Allen Jr., Dasmond Tautalatasi, Khalil McKenzie, Simba Short, Drew Sullivan, Boss Tagaloa Folsom - Jake Browning, Bailey Laolagi, Josiah Deguara, Luckas Hendricks

Division I: Del Oro vs. Serra 12/13 San Jose City College

How they got here: Del Oro beat Elk Grove 20-19 to win the SJS Division II title. The Golden Eagles have won three section titles in four years with the first two coming in Division III. Serra beat Mitty 21-7 for the program's first Central Coast Section Open Division title and second section title in three years. Both teams have losses to De La Salle.

Regional/State Bowl History: Del Oro made the 2011 Division II state bowl game in falling to Helix 35-24. This is Serra's first regional appearance.

Top Prospects: Del Oro - Tyler Meteer, Trey Udoffia, Elias Campos, Emileo Campos Serra - Hamilton Anoa'i, Jack Dreyer, Kava Cassidy

Division II: Enterprise vs. Manteca 12/14 Lincoln HS (Stockton)

How they got here: Enterprise compiled a 12-0 record en route to its second straight Northern Section Division I title. The Hornets are riding a 16 game winning streak. Manteca beat Sacramento to win the SJS Division III title. The Buffaloes go into the regional bowl with a 13-1 mark.

Regional/State Bowl History: This the first regional bowl appearance for both programs.

Top Prospects: Enterprise - Brandon Evers, Isaiah Matthews Manteca - Alex Laurel

Division III: El Cerrito vs. Sacred Heart Prep 12/14 De Anza HS

How they got here: El Cerrito has won 10 in a row capped by a NCS Division III title game win over Marin Catholic. It was the second straight championship game appearance for the Gauchos. Sacred Heart Prep, 12-1, won the CCS Division IV title over Pacific Grove on Saturday. The Gators are 25-2 over the last two years.

Regional/State Bowl History: This is the first regional appearance for both programs.

Top Prospects: El Cerrito - Adarius Pickett. Derik Calhoun, Jalen Harvey, Keith Benjamin, Keilan Benjamin, Aaron Banks Sacred Heart Prep - Ben Burr-Kirven

Division IV: Central Catholic-McClymonds 12/13 Lincoln HS (Stockton)

How they got here: Central Catholic beat previous unbeaten Hilmar 24-10 to win the SJS Division IV title. It is the second straight title for the Raiders. McClymonds beat Oakland for its fourth consecutive Silver Bowl championship. Central Catholic beat the Warriors in the regular season.

Regional/State Bowl History: Central Catholic won the 2012 Division IV state title with a 66-7 win over Santa Fe Christian. The Raiders beat McClymonds 42-12 in the regional game. In 2007, they fell to St. Bonaventure 35-21 in the Division III bowl game. The Warriors' only appearance was last year's loss to Central Catholic.
