Just a hunch... I thought they showed some good defense vs. Serra when I watched part of that game online.

Folsom77?
Curious. You did not number your picks. Is Rocklin your #10 most confident pick to win, or #1 least confident pick to win? I would think if you proclaimed an order for your picks before any of the games actually begin, they would be counted. My 2 cents. Muds

Congratulations to okesene2003, who took the week with a 48. We have one more week of play with the top three finishers winning prizes.
Also, be on the lookout for our post-season pick'em challenge starting this week with the Northern Section playoffs.

Streaks. As of NCP's Week #9 Pick'em, if my math is correct, my fellow Pick'em collegue the poster known as "bella123", should be in the yearly top five with a 398 total. In Week #6, bella had a total of 309. In subsequent weeks (#7, #8, #9), bella scored 16, 32, 41. When added-up (309 + 89) = 398 yearly total.
Also, again if my numbers are correct, my fellow Pick'em collegue the poster known as "kevin_sierra-cb" is tied with fellow Pick'um collegue "33stack", both with totals of 392.
By the way, congratulations to 8-Man Pick'um brother, "okesene2003", for winning last week's 11-Man Pick'em! Muds

I'm guessing my yearly total above is a typo?
BTW, I don't see 33stack picks from this past week but he received points? Is there a system we can send in our picks to you through an email or fax?
Posted on 11/8 9:22 PM | IP: Logged
Muds: Yes, bella123 is in 5th at 398 and kevin_sierra_cb and 33stack are tied for 6th at 392.
sweetjfromthebay: Yes it was a typo. Your yearly total is 435. The protocol for a non-entry is to give the person low score minus one point, which this week is 16.

Streak...Is there a way to put together a post season pick'em contest with the top 16. Putting 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15 etc. For bragging rights only.
Semifinals would look like this:
sweetjfromthebay vs. muds
NorCalSportsFan vs. SearsPoints
Only if I'm in the top 16 though

pantera-cat,
Very interesting idea. We are doing a playoff pick'em that won't have the seeds, but should have a very fun scoring system.

Cat! I have noticed with a certain degree of alarm that your Pick'em skills have improved exponentially since you stopped playing 8-Man Pick'um! That said, I HOPE you are not picking me to end Streak One's regular season 11-Man Pick'em in the #16 slot which, according to your post-season senario, would pit me against front-running "sweetjayfromthebay" in the first round, a most uncomfortable seeding (for moi) to be sure!
To be frank, cat, it would really crush me to wind-up #16 by the end of the regular contest next weekend. Weekly Pick'em means a lot to me, especially being in the top five (and I am rather nervous that you and Kevin_Sierra-cb and several others could bump me from that exhaulted tier if you guys pick really well (and I don't) in next week's Pick'em. Just keep this in mind, okay: an aging man forced to live temporarily on assignment in NorNewMex, 1500 miles away from his beloved NorCal Hsfootball Vortex, among his only pleasures in life, ergo, reasons to live, being Streak One's weekly Pick'em and a chance, this year, to finish in the top five. If you knock me out of the top five, do you (and others) really want it on your conscience? I'm not asking you to take a dive when you play Pick'em this weekend. Not really...
BTW. Do you think "sweetjayfromthebay" is fully human? I mean, look at his numbers. He comes from outta nowhere and dominates! I'm seriously thinking he is part man, part computer, or that he has at his finger-tips enormous resources to dig out critical information to help him with his weekly picks. He just can't totally be human, is all I am saying. Not with the incredible Pick'em numbers he keeps racking up! Who knows... Muds

I was beginning to think "Sweetjayfromthebay" is Frank Rosenthal aka "Ace Rothstein" depicted in the movie Casino, but Rosenthal I found out passed on last year. Maybe a younger relative? In a google search I found out I share a name (but no relationship I'm aware of) to a famous sports handicapper/picker - "The Skunkman." I also hear the Taos area is a haven for budding as well as retired sports handicappers/pickers. Is that true? LOL

Muds, Muds, Muds... In no way was implying a #16 seed for you. Maybe with your name next to sweetjayfromthebay you got nervous but that was for the SEMI-FINALS. Streaker only lists the top 5 each week so a semi-final was the only example I could give. Heck I hope I could make the top 16!
To throw another wrench into seeding the top 16 would be allowed to throw out each picker's worst week and total up each pickers best 9 weeks. This would allow for that one week you were on vacation or the one week you just had a brain freeze. We do this in bass tournaments (where I get my name (pantera-cat) for my basscat bass boat) for the TOC. More work for streaker but if he listed the year end results it would be pretty easy.

Muds, thans for the doublle check on the scores, I didn't realize my own points.
Pantera, I like the idea of throwing out the worst week, ("for that one week you were on vacation or the one week you just had a brain freeze.") Honestly I had both in one week (the 16 point week). Of course I was in Maui so it was more like a Mai Tai, Corona and bikini freeze

As your comments attest, you are an informed and worthy adversary, NorCal. The Rosenthal, Casino, Skunkman references being nice touches. However, with regards to NorNewMex and it alleged plethora of retired handicappers and budding "pickers", the only pickin' going on around here has to do with noses, litter and...the next whiskey bar...(he says, while humming that song by The Doors). Cat, I am for throwing out ANYTHING that will help (me end-up in the top five?) I always wondered about your killer board name. And now I know why you would suggest "throw(ing) out" ones Pick'em minnows!!! (Hey, one of my road trips, we've got to go to a game and share bass stories. I've only got one, but you should have plenty! Muds

Bellman. I hear that "bikini freeze" can really wipe-out a fella's corneas. Or is that Coronas? Muds
